Root canal treatment

A root canal treatment is used for removing an infection from inside a tooth. It deals with cleaning the pulp of the tooth, which is the root canal.

A root canal is a highly successful procedure offered to save the tooth as an alternative to the removal of a tooth due to pain. A root canal can also prevent future infections in a tooth. Although this procedure causes some discomfort, we strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible while sitting in the dental chair.

The process

Firstly, we inject patients with a local anaesthetic to numb the area so you won't feel anything. Next, we clean the area by removing everything that's inside the root canal. After this, we clean, shape and decontaminate the hollow area. Then, the tooth is filled with a rubber-like material, using an adhesive cement to seal the canals completely. Finally, we seal the tooth with a filling.
